Key Ingredients

  • Chicken breasts.
  • Broccoli. You can use fresh or frozen broccoli.
  • Cheddar Cheese. Choosing a soft variety of cheese help to create a gooey filling and enhance the flavor.
  • Smoked paprika. You will need this spice to rub all over the chicken before baking it in the oven.

How To Make

Step 1. Preheat the oven to 375F. Rinse and pat dry the chicken. Make a "pocket" in each breast by cutting the thickest side but not completely through.

Step 2. Make a "filling. Cut cheese into small cubes. Cut broccoli into small pieces. Combine with cheese, add some salt.

Step 3. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper. Fill each breast with filling and secure with a wooden skewer similar to the "sewing" technique. Rub salt and paprika all over the chicken.

Step 4. Cook until the temperature inside measures 165, about 20-25 minutes.

Recipe Tips:

  • For chicken meat to stay moist, don’t overcook the chicken. The internal temperature should measure at 165.
  • This recipe will work with fresh broccoli and with previously frozen broccoli.
  • Choose a soft kind of cheese like cheddar or gouda for a more creamy flavor and gooey presentation.
