Oven-Baked Easy Falafel (Gluten-Free)

Easy falafel recipe made with canned chickpeas, parsley, and some simple ingredients from the pantry. These falafels are baked in the oven and ready in 45 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 of the large vidalia onion , diced
  • 2 cups parsley (packed, stems removed)
  • 2 cans of chickpeas (rinsed), two 15.5 oz cans
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 5 teaspoons of cumin
  • 6 tablespoons of chickpea flour

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400F degrees. Gather the ingredients. ingredients for Falafel, olive oil, chickpeas, cumin, salt, onion, cilantro, and bean flour
  2. In a food processor, place parsley and pulse till minced, scrape sides a couple of times between pulsing. Add a diced onion, pulse till minced. Place the mixture in a large mixing bowl. food processor with minced onion and cilantro
  3. Rinse chickpeas add to the food processor, pulse till minced, and not completely blended. food processor with mixture to make falafel
  4. Add chickpeas to the bowl with parsley. Add to the bowl salt, olive oil, and cumin. Start gradually adding flour while mixing with the spoon. mixture in the bowl to make falafel
  5. Prepare a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Using a tablespoon, scoop enough mixture to form falafel, use hands to shape the round ball. Slightly flatten with a fork. Make sure the patties are spaced out and don’t touch each other. Falafel balls on the baking sheet before going in the oven
  6. Bake on the middle rack position for 30 minutes till lightly brown. baked falafels on a baking sheet
