  • 1 mango large, ripe

Instructions
 

  • Wash the mango: Before cutting into the fruit, wash it thoroughly with cool water to remove any dirt or debris.
  • Slice off the top and bottom: Using a sharp knife, slice off a small portion from both the top and bottom of the mango. This will create a stable base for the fruit to stand on.
  • Cut off the skin: Stand the mango upright on one of the flat ends and use a sharp knife to carefully cut away the skin in vertical strips, following the curve of the fruit. Alternatively, you can also peel the skin with a vegetable peeler.
  • Remove the flesh: Once the skin has been removed, you can cut the flesh away from the seed. Hold the fruit upright and slice downward along the seed, making two large pieces. Then, cut the flesh away from the seed by running the knife as close to the seed as possible.
  • Cut into desired shape: You can now cut the mango into the desired shape, such as cubes, slices, or wedges. The flesh can be eaten as is, added to a fruit salad, blended into a smoothie, or used in a variety of dishes.

Notes

Remember, mangoes are a juicy fruit and can be messy to eat. Consider using a cutting board with a groove around the edge to catch any juices, or eat the fruit over a sink or bowl to minimize the mess.
