Healthy Molasses Bread

A mildly sweet bread loaded with sunflower seeds and made with iron-rich blackstrap molasses.  Easy healthy recipe and no yeast required.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 egg large-sized, room temperature
  • 1 1/2 cup kefir shake well before using
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 3/4 cup molasses room temperature
  • 1 cup sunflower seeds
  • 3 cup spelt flour organic sprouted
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder

Instructions
 

  • Gather the ingredients. Preheat oven to 375F degrees.
  • In a large mixing bowl lightly whisk an egg, add kefir, olive oil, molasses, sunflower seeds, mix well. In a large measuring cup measure the flour, add baking powder, mix before starting gradually adding to the wet mixture with molasses. Combine and mix well.
  • Line the loaf pan with parchment paper, add the mixture.
  • Bake on the middle rack position for an hour or so, till crust is formed and a toothpick comes out clean. Once baked, wait to slice till bread cools off (if you can).
