This easy homemade pie crust is made with only three ingredients. The process is simple, and the main ingredient is whole-grain sprouted spelt flour. The pie shell will perfectly hold the shape and has a rustic crust texture, and could be used to make quiche recipes or pies.
Gather the ingredients. In a mixing bowl add two cups of flour. Add the diced butter and mix with a spoon till combined. Gradually add yogurt, stir, and start working with the dough with your hands. Form the ball. If the dough is sticky add more flour.
Wrap the ball in plastic wrap, place it in the fridge for 10 minutes to chill.
Once chilled, slice in half. Place the second half back in the fridge.
Prepare a flat surface lightly sprinkled with flour. Using a rolling pin, roll out the first half of the dough into the circle shape.
Place in the pie dish. Fold over the overlapped ends inside the dish, so they don’t burn when baking.
Using a fork, press tight to make the design. Prick the dough with a fork.
If ready to use, place a filling inside and bake at 400F degrees for 30-40 minutes till lightly brown, and the center of the dish is set.
