Ingredients

  • 1 kiwi fruit

Instructions

Using a Simple Knife

  • First, place the kiwi on a cutting board and cut off both the ends of the kiwi.
  • Once the ends are off, stand the kiwi on a cutting board on one of the ends and remove the skin of the kiwi in a downward motion on all sides of the kiwi. Make sure that you do not peel too much skin and waste the fruit. You can also use a knife and carefully trim off the fuzzy skin instead.
  • Once the skin is off, it’s time to dice the kiwi into bite-sized pieces. You can cut it up into small cubes or even slice it into discs.

Zigzag Cutting

  • Insert the pointed side of the paring knife into the kiwi. Then, move your knife in diagonal directions, in the shape of a triangle. Cut such half triangles all around the kiwi. Up, down, up, down.
  • Once you’ve gone around the entire kiwi, gently pull the two halves apart, and there you have it!

Using A Spoon

  • Cut off both the ends of the kiwi.
  • Use a small teaspoon with a sharp end. Insert the fruit between the kiwi's skin and green flash and push it against the skin. Carefully slide your spoon towards the other end. Make sure that the spoon is as close to the skin as possible so that you can get the perfect rounded shape.
  • Once you’ve eased the skin away from the fruit, you will be able to slide the skin away. If it doesn’t come off easily, you can use a small knife to peel the extra skin off it.
  • Slice the kiwi into perfect round slices.

Using a Peeler

  • Cut the ends of the kiwi off. Then, use a vegetable peeler to remove the furry skin from all sides. Once the kiwi is peeled, you can use a small knife to slice the kiwi.

Notes

Before cutting the kiwi fruit, you'll need to rinse it first.
Storage tips:
  • If the kiwi is ripe, you can store it at room temperature if you will use it soon. You can check if the kiwi is ripe by squeezing it gently.
  • If you aren’t going to eat them soon, it’s better to place them in the fridge. They will stay in the fridge for about a week.
  • You can also store cut-up kiwi in an airtight box in the fridge for 2-3 days.
Serving tips:
  • You can add kiwi to your smoothie.
  • You can also throw in some kiwi chunks in a tropical fruit salad.
  • Kiwi also makes for a great topping to oatmeal or yogurt.
  • Some people also like to eat kiwi as fruit kabobs.
