Substitute for baking powder in pancakes.

Every baker, beginner or pro, knows how crucial baking powder is. So we understand how frustrating it is to not have one in your pantry. The good news is you can easily find a substitute for baking powder in pancakes.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1/4 tsp cornstarch (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Combine the baking soda and cream of tartar in a small bowl.
  • If you want to prevent the mixture from clumping, add the cornstarch and mix well.
  • Use the substitute immediately, as it will begin to lose its potency after about 15-20 minutes.

Notes

This recipe will substitute one teaspoon of baking powder. Adjust the ingredients accordingly based on the amount of baking powder you need for your recipe.
