Ingredients

  • 8 ozs brie cheese one small wheel
  • 1/2 cup pecans
  • 3 tbsp fig jam
  • apples or pears sliced

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375F degrees.
  • In a small bowl, crush pecans.
  • Place brie on a small baking dish or baking pan—Bake for 10 minutes on the middle rack.
  • Take the baking dish with brie out, add pecans around. Bake together for 1-2 minutes.
  • Carefully place hot brie on the serving dish with sliced fruits. Insert the knife in the brie and slice to open the ring horizontally, so the melted cheese has a way to pour out. Add jam, sprinkle with nuts.

Notes

Success tips. Make sure to give plenty of time for the brie to warm up in the oven. You'll want to have gooey melty cheese coming out on the plate once you slice it open.
Serving ideas. To serve this baked brie with jam, use crostini, mini sourdough toasts, or your favorite crackers instead of the fruits.
Cheese variations. Most brie is made out of cow's milk; you can buy goat milk brie, which has a milder flavor.
Toppings variations. Instead of pecans and fig jam, serve with different nuts like walnuts, almonds, pistachios. Top baked brie with sliced fresh figs, lingonberry jam, drizzle with honey, the sky is limit here.
Dietary tips. To keep this dish refined sugar-free, use jam sweetened with fruit juice. To keep it gluten-free, serve with sliced fruits like pears or apples instead of crackers.
