Pan Fried Gnocchi


These pan-fried gnocchi are crispy and fragrant. This recipe is made easy in less than 15 minutes, and it’s done in one pan.

This recipe is made using Traders Joe’s frozen gnocchi. They are gluten-free and are truly a great time-saver. The gnocchi is made with only four ingredients, two of which are cauliflower and cassava flour.

How to Make It

1. Gather the ingredients. Preheat the large skillet on medium-high heat. Once preheated, add two tablespoons of ghee, and coat the bottom of the pan.  Shake the package of gnocchi to make sure the gnocchi are separated individually. Add to the pan, arrange so pan is not crowded.

2. Wait 4-5 minutes to flip so the side can brown properly. Once the gnocchi browned and got crispy, it will be easier to flip them. Use a wide spatula to do it. Fry on another side till crispy. Add more ghee if needed. When cooked, sprinkle with salt, add mince garlic on top. Serve right away.

  • Use a well-seasoned cast-iron pan.
  • Use plenty of fat or oil to coat the pan.
  • Add gnocchi to the pan only when it’s hot.
  • Don’t flip it right away; wait till it gets crispy.
  • To preserve the texture, make gnocchi without adding anything “extra.” Cook the “extra” separately.

  • Try adding rosemary, sauteed sweet onions, and sun-dried tomatoes for extra flavor.
  • Add some protein: sausage or bacon.
  • Serve with veggies: spinach, chard, and asparagus.
