This apple grilled cheese sandwich is a perfect option for lunch on the go when short on time. Using simple real food ingredients and apples in season makes this sandwich truly a showstopper.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of bread (of your choice)
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheeses (or gouda cheese)
  • 1/2 of Fuji apple , cored and sliced
  • 1/2 cup spinach (washed, stems removed)
  • 2 tablespoons honey seeded dijon mustards
  • 2 tablespoons butter (softened at room temperature)

HOW TO MAKE APPLE GRILLED CHEESE

Step 2. Slice apple and cheese—spread mustard on the side of each slice of bread. Top with spinach, add apples and cheese. Cover with the second slice of bread. slices of bread with spinach, mustard and cheese

Step 3. Butter each side of the sandwich. Preheat cast iron pan on medium heat. Grill on both sides slow till cheese starts melting, enjoy!
