Key Ingredients

Ingredient Notes

Raw pecans. Raw pecans are best in this recipe since you’re going to be roasting them anyway. Store-bought roasted nuts are usually salted as well, so they aren’t the best fit for this recipe.

Raw honey. The raw honey should not be swapped out for regular honey if at all possible. Raw honey is the best way to achieve the desired level of moisture and crunch in this recipe.

Hemp hearts. Hemp hearts are smooth, mildly nutty, and packed with a good amount of protein.

How To make Honey Roasted Pecans

Step 1. Preheat oven. In the mixing medium bowl combine pecan pieces and whole pecans with honey. Stir to ensure all pecans are evenly coated.

Step 2. Line baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread whole nuts and pecan pieces in the single layer on the baking sheet, sprinkle with hemp hearts. Bake for 8-10 min.

Step 3. Once roasted, cool for 10-15 mins so that honey can harden.

Recipe Notes

  • This recipe makes two cups of honey glazed pecans.
  • Since your oven may cook differently, keep an eye on the nuts while you bake them to ensure they don’t burn.
  • Feel free to enjoy them warm. Before storing them, please make sure the pecans are cool and not sticky.
  • Use a metal spatula to separate honey pecans from the parchment paper.
  • Once pecans are cool, store in the airtight container to keep them fresh.

Serving Tips

These yummy honey roasted pecans make an amazing snack! They are also an excellent way to give a pop of flavor to your salad, homemade granola, yogurt bowls or top an ice cream. You can also eat them them sprinkled on grains like kasha (buckwheat groats) or quinoa. Of course, they’re great on their own, too!

Variations

If you like salty snacks, feel free to sprinkle some sea salt on top.

For more flavor, sprinkle some cinnamon powder on top.

Want to make spiced nuts? Add a dash of cayenne pepper if you like them spicy.

Try substituting pecans for your favorite nut; walnuts would make a great choice.
